The Australian Fulbright Alumni Association (AFAA) was formed in 1993. The alumni are essential to the continued success of the Fulbright program in Australia. Following the success of the Fulbright Postgraduate Alumni (WG Walker) Scholarship the Australian-America Fulbright Commission established the U.S. Alumni Scholarship in 2005, through the support of the American alumni.

The Commission hosts premier events for members of the AFAA in Australia and the U.S. The alumni provides a network of Fulbright scholars, from its inception in the 1950's to present scholars, in all fields of study, and at various stages of their academic and professional careers.

Chapters of the AFAA

The AFAA has established both Australian State Chapters and US Regional Chapters to coordinate a range of professional and social activities to engage with Fulbright Scholars, alumni and the Australian and U.S. Consulates and Embassies. To ensure you receive updated information on the Fulbright Program and invitations to all the Fulbright events, join the AFAA.

Friends of Fulbright

The Association welcomes individuals who are interested and supportive of the Fulbright Program and its mission. Friends of Fulbright generally include former Board Members; Selection Committee Members; Sponsors, Australian and U.S. business, government, and educational representatives; or interested individuals. They are invited to Fulbright events and have the opportunity to network with the Fulbright community.
