Each year the Australian-American Fulbright Commission offers a grant of $30,000 to an individual or group selected to host the Fulbright Symposium. The Symposium is created around a topic of current bi-national interest between Australia and the United States and engages leading speakers from both countries. The aim of the Fulbright Symposium is to publicly demonstrate the Fulbright Commission's mission of "promoting mutual understanding between the peoples of the United States and Australia through educational and cultural exchange".
This program supports Australian universities to host U.S. senior specialists and/or academics as guest speakers, lecturers and/or collaborative researchers. The aim of this program is to develop curriculum, build research links and establish ongoing cooperations. The scholarship supports a 2-6 week visit and funds an international economy airfare and a US$200 per day honorarium. Australian universities must apply through the Australian-American Fulbright Commission. U.S. senior specialists and/or academics must register with CIES.
