Senior Scholarships
Fulbright Senior Scholarships are available to Australian citizens in a range of academic fields, including:
- Scholars of established reputation working in an academic institution who intend to teach or undertake research.
- Practising professionals who have established reputations in their fields.
- Senior members of academically-based professions who are currently engaged in the private practice of their profession.
- Recognised academic or professionals who have been invited to the United States by a tertiary institution, learned society or professional organisation for a significant short-term purpose (such as invited speakers at a national or international conference, major research program, provider of master classes or contributor to a major exhibition).
2009 APPLICATIONS NOW OPEN
The Commission offers up to three Fulbright Senior Scholarships annually. Fulbright Senior Scholarships are open to all fields of study and may include:.
Senior Scholarship benefits
- Travel allowance of A$3,675
- Dependants travel allowance of A$3,275
- Stipend of US$2,850 per month for a maximum of 6 months
- Dependants stipend of US$175 per month for a maximum of 6 months
- Establishment allowance of US$500
- Baggage allowance of US$100
- Transport and accommodation to attend an Orientation Program and Fulbright Presentation Dinner in Australia (March)
- Transport and accommodation to an Enrichment Seminar with international Fulbright Scholars in the U.S.
- Access to U.S., Australian and international Fulbright Scholars and distinguished alumni.
Duration
- Fulbright funding is for a maximum of six months only and applicants must demonstrate they have sufficient additional funds to support themselves and any dependants during their stay in the U.S.
