2012 FULBRIGHT SCHOLARSHIP IN CLIMATE CHANGE AND CLEAN ENERGY (U.S.)

Applications for the 2012 Fulbright Postgraduate Scholarships are open 1 May to 18 October 2011.


The 2012 Fulbright Scholarship in Climate Change and Clean Energy is for U.S. citizens who wish to undertake 8-12 months postgraduate research towards a U.S. PhD or study in Australia. Applications are invited from graduates with a background in the humanities or social sciences and whose research is focused on the social and economic responses to the impact of climate change and/or the development and adoption of clean energy technologies.

The Scholarships which were announced by the Prime Minister of Australia the Hon Julia Gillard and U.S. Secretary of State, Hilary Clinton in November 2010, were established to increase collaboration on clean energy research and to address the social challenges of responding and adapting to the impact of climate change.


Scholarship Benefits

The Climate Change and Clean Energy Postgraduate Scholarship is valued at up to AUD65,000 and includes:

  • Generous travel entitlement
  • Monthly stipend for a maximum of 12 months
  • Establishment and baggage allowances

  • Transport and accommodation to an Enrichment Program whilst in Australia
  • Professional network of U.S., Australian and international Fulbright Scholars and distinguished Alumni.
